Hi,

Very new to Excel and generally find lots of help (thanks) but i would like to copy a file from one source folder to another destination folder. The filename; source folder & destination folder are detailed in a given row - each row differs.

I was hoping to place the cursor on the first cell of a given row and then the VBA code would look to (say) C3 for filename; D3 for source folder path; E3 for destination folder path.

Really appreciate any help - thank you.

What file format is the file that needs to be saved as a PDF in?

It may be easier to save the source file as a PDF each time that file is saved.
Sorry - been away. You are right - the file formats would vary. I guess if the user could click the copy button; their row position determined the source file path & the destination file path; It made a copy then opened the file save as dialogue box. They could pick .pdf and new destination. Is that possible?

thank you

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
So are you expecting a a Word document, for example, to be saved as a PDF file?

If that is the case then code would need to be written to open Word from Excel, open the Word document and save it as a PDF file.

What other file formats do you use?

word, excel, .txt. I think if you could work your magic to make a copy to the predesignated folder then open the print dialogue box - the user could select the .pdf printer?

thanks again.
