Copy Formatting From Equation

I am using a formula to reference a cell value. Is there a way that I can have it bring over the cell formatting as well? I'm particularly trying to copy over a note or comment to go along with the value.
 

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
