Hi

I need to copy a number form a Word document, which is 20 characters long, into Excel. Eg 89550000000005056849. When I tried to do it, it only gave me <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<TABLE style="WIDTH: 108pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse; mso-padding-alt: 0cm 0cm 0cm 0cm; mso-yfti-tbllook: 1184" class=MsoNormalTable border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=144><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt; mso-yfti-irow: 0; mso-yfti-firstrow: yes; mso-yfti-lastrow: yes"><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0cm; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; PADDING-LEFT: 0cm; WIDTH: 108pt; PADDING-RIGHT: 0cm; HEIGHT: 15pt; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; PADDING-TOP: 0cm" width=144>
89550000000005000000<o:p></o:p>
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
<o:p></o:p>
Can somebody please help me.<o:p></o:p>

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
I suspect that it is because the number is too big for Excel to hold in a cell as an integer (which I think is around 15 characters). I think if you keep it as a string it will copy across - try formatting the destination cell as a string and then pasting. That said you wont be able to do anything with the string mathematically but you could manipulate it with the help of string functions and Value.

Let me know if it works as I cant access excel right now to test it
