I need at add a data-free worksheet of 174 cells in a row to a number of different workbooks that already have data in place.

How can I do this so that the worksheet copy links only internally to the new workbook in which it resides, not back to the original (parent) workbook / worksheet. (Excel 2003)

Thank you.

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
When you copy it, it will be:

=[Sample.xlsx]Sheet1!$C$7

Just do a find replace for [Sample.xlsx] or [Sample.xlsx]Sheet1!

and leave the "Replace with" blank. That will break the link back to the original document.

CWATTS,

I set up a sample SHEET1 with just 4 cells. The COPY/PASTE null worked fine. Thank you. I found that keeping the source workbook open makes the search string less complicated.
