I want to copy a sheet to the end and give it a new name. The following code will copy the sheet but errors out before it names it saying object required.

Code:
Sheets("copySheet").Copy(After:=Worksheets(Worksheets.Count)).Name = shtName & "svd"

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
So is the data pasted onto the worksheet?

You might need to name it separately or create a worksheet before copying

Try something like this...
Code:
Sheets("copySheet").Copy After:=Worksheets(Worksheets.Count)
Sheets(Worksheets.Count).Name = shtName & "svd"
