Is there another formula that would be easier to use, then the one listed below, which returns the same amount:

=COUNTIF(AF20:AF111,"*Cash**")+COUNTIF(AF20:AF111,"*wats**")


Wats
Cash
Wats
Cash

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
You shouldn't need 2 asterisks at the end of each string.

=SUM(COUNTIF(AF20:AF111,{"*Cash*","*wats*"}))
