Afternoon all, I need to count a range, for example C12:C200 only if the text in those cells is greater then 5.

I had tried, COUNTIF(C12:C200,LEN(C12:C200)>5) as an array but it generates 0 when I know the amount should be 7

Any ideas please

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Perhaps
Excel Formula:
=sumproduct(--(len(c12:c200)>5))

(I suppose you mean the string has more than 5 characters?)

I suggest that you update your Account details (click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)
