Hello. I'm sorry I know this may be a simple problem, but I'm having difficulties trying to work this out. I need a formula on an excel spreadsheet that will count the number of complaints for certain products for each month (IE in the example image below, How many apple complaints we've had for January, and then in February

For Example:

Product Complaints.jpg

I've tried SUMPRODUCT, and a combination of a IF/COUNTIF/SUMPRODUCT formula (Example I found from GOOGLE that I've tried to play around with but couldn't make work: '=IF(COUNTIF($A$309:$A$606,"ABC"),SUMPRODUCT(H309:H606,P309:P606),"")

I know this has to be something simple I'm missing. Would anyone be able to help me out with this please? I've tried searching on google but have been struggling to find an answer on how to calculate this (I'm not very good with formulas honestly)

Thank-you very much!

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
How about
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIF(B:B,"$D2",A:A,">="&date(2022,1,1),A:A,"<"&date(2022,2,1))
