Count days between two separate dates

Hi i need a function that will count the amount of days that have elapsed between one date in the form of dd/mm/yyyy, and another date in the same format, and to show the amount of days that have occurred between these two dates.

Column a=date 1
column b=date 2
column c=amount of days between the two

thank you for your help in advance, it is really appreciated!
 

Excel Facts

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
Column A format with Date. Column B Format with Date. Column C format with number.

still gives me the #value result
i have formatted again and again, i have formatted the two columns according to date format, and doen it by cell, then by collumn, and still i get the same result. I opened a new worksheet, still the #value result.
