Hi,

I have the following table:

Book1
BCD
2DateProfitLoss
313-Dec25
413-Dec36
513-Dec12
613-Dec47
713-Dec58
814-Dec5412
915-Dec36
1016-Dec25
1116-Dec14
Sheet1

I am trying to calculate the average trades per day. In the above table, there is a total of 10 trades. (9 winning trades and 1 losing trade). The number of days is 4. Therefore, the average trade per day is 2.5. I am trying to use the following formula to derive the average number of trades per day and its not working as it results in 3.33 instead of 2.5. Appreciate all help.

Excel Formula:
=COUNT(C3:C11,D3:D11)/(MAX(B3:B11)-MIN(B3:B11))

Excel Facts

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Doesn't (MAX(B3:B11)-MIN(B3:B11) return 3 instead of 4. So maybe +1 does the trick?

You need to add one to your subtraction... subtracting only includes one of the end points, not both of them (subtracting calculates days **between**, not total days). Try...
=COUNT(C3:C11,D3:D11)/(MAX(B3:B11)-MIN(B3:B11)+1)
