Count if cell contians ... when cells may have more than one character

In one column (I10:I489) of a spreadsheet, the cells may contain S , SW, SM, or M. I am looking for a formula that will count the number of cells that contain "S".

I've looked at previous post about this, but haven't found anything yet that works like it should.
