Can anyone help me with the following.

I have two columns.

column A - specifies points given for an action
column B - specifies whether the points are "valid" or "invalid"

I cant work out a formula to add all the points in column A but only if the points are "valid".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK

Try something like this...

=SUMIF(B2:B10,"Valid",A2:A10)

Adjust the ranges to suit.

Try...

=SUMIF(B2:B100,"Valid",A2:A100)

or

=SUMIF(B2:B100,D2,A2:A100)

...where D2 contains Valid. Adjust the ranges, accordingly.
