Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
I want to be able to type in a persons name have it update a chart the person will have a # associated with it, also would you be able to answer a merging question for me...

thx

Sorry, that's still not specific enough. What do you mean by chart - a cell or a graph? Do you want to lookup the person's name in a table and return the value in the next column? If so in which cell are you typing the name and where is the lookup table?

it is going to be a pie chart for subcontractors lets say; you have lent out 5000 people and only 50 names r shown up on the roster, I want to have the pie chart show that information by just typing a name in the roster sheet
