COUNT / INDIRECT / ADDRESS question

What have I done wrong here?

=COUNT(INDIRECT(L36):INDIRECT(M36))

L36 = $P$33
M36= $S$33

Both returned by the ADDRESS function.

Your formula works in Excel 2007 but try

=COUNT(INDIRECT(L36&":"&M36))

=COUNT(INDIRECT(L36 & ":" & M36))

Formula works for me,

What values are in P33:S33? What result do you expect? COUNT will only count numbers (formatted as numbers) within that range
