Hi all,
hopefully should be a nice quick one for you. I have a range of data and i am double counting the salary for some employees as they contain splits. Employee 100103 is throwing out the totals in the salary column and they should match back as a check. ie only count employee 100103 salary of 20,000 rather than 80,000.

Thank you for your reply but this doesnt really answer my question. the formula you have suggested is what i am currently using to populate the salary splits in column F.

I think the answer is possibly some kind of array forumula in the total of column E (showing 180,000) ?

=SUM(IF(B2:B10="no",E2:E10,B2:B10*E2:E10))

Sorry, but you were talking about array formulas.

As for it not working, I'm assuming the column with the salary is E and the column with the 'no' or a %age is B

So does the formula displaty in the formula bar with curly brackets around it?

To be fair, I suspect it's possibly not what you're after anyway. I'd imagine what you really want to do is something like

"if the employee only appears once then add their salary, otherwise add the first occurence of the salary"

I would expect the column to sum to 120,000 rather than 180,000. employee 100103 is only one person and should therefore there salary should only be counted once.
