Hey Guys,
Back again. I've poked around a bit but i haven't been able to get a concrete answer.

Basically what I am looking to do is show a count of how many text entries occurred on a certain date.

So the layout is like this.

Sheet 1.
Say it shows in names in Column A and a date in column B

Mark 8/1
Mark 8/1
Mark 8/1
Mark 8/1
Mark 8/1
David 8/2
David 8/2

In sheet two in Column A it says name and Column B it says shows the date
I want to be able to show in sheet two, that on 8/1 Mark displayed 5 times
and on 8/2 David displayed 2.

Name | 8/1 | 8/2 |
Mark | 5 | 0 |
David | 0 | 2 |

Does that make sense? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
Can I suggest you look at pivot tables, as these are great for this kind of application. If you need further help, let me know which version of Excel you're using.

I am using 2003. I'm also very new to excel so I've been trying to learn, therefore don't know basically anything a bout pivot tables. The sheet isn't very extensive. It's literally only what is described below.
