A coworker has created a sheet which relies on the COUNT function to count the number of trucks we have. Previously the trucks themselves were always numbers but now they may have letters in them as well.

What can I do to count the non blank cells in them?

Its a bit messy but:

=X-COUNTBLANK(A1:A8)

where X is the number of cells in the range will work.
be careful of cells with just a space in them because these are not blank!
