countif does NOT meet criteria

Hi,

Can someone please let me know how I can get excel how to count all entries that does NOT meet the Criteria???

eg. if my clients have a month submitted cell and I wanted to count all except for these submitted in "January"

I used the below formula to count,

 =COUNTIF(A1:A12,"<>" & A15)

A1:A12 is my count range and A15 is what i dont want to count in my range
