Hello All,

Can any tell me why the following formula does not work and or how to make it work.

=COUNTIF(LEFT($T$2:T100,2),"1A")

Thanks

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
It might work if you entered it as an array formula, but the ranges in CountIf can't be put inside a formula.

=COUNTIF($T$2:T100,"1A*") will count the entries in T2:T100 that begin with "1A".
