Countif , no Column Headers

Hi Guys

I have a spreadsheet, I wish to count the items in Column D when the items in column BF = "Unique".

I have tried versions of Sumproduct and countifs, but there are no column headers to use for criteria ,

Can anyone please help ??

=SUMPRODUCT(--(BF1:BF1000="Unique"),D1:D1000)

Thanks for that, but this seems to be adding up all the numbers in column D , is there any way to count them ?
