COUNTIF has been a very nice function to me, but now it is not doing what I need it to do. I want to count all the values in a column (C:C) that is greater than or equal to a value in a particular cell (G3). Unfortunately, countif breaks down for me, at least as far as I know how to use countif.

Could anyone tell me how to do this, either with COUNTIF or with another function or combination of functions? Thank you!

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.

=COUNTIF(C:C,"<="&G3)

shouldn't break if C is of numeric type and G3 houses a number.
