Hi

I have the following countif formula

=COUNTIF($B$3:$B$1260,M2)

How do I amend it only to count names in column B between two dates (which I specify in cells I2 and J2)

thanks

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.

Assuming there are dates in column A beside the names in column B, try this (untested).
Code:
=SUMPRODUCT(--($A$3:$A$1260<J2),--($A$3:$A$1260>I2),--($B$3:$B$1260=M2))
