Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
You say that want to report weekly, but you show Dec 30 2010 till Jan 4 as a time period ... this isn't a week. And why start on Dec 30, a Thursday?

So, shouldn't you be starting on Dec 31 2010, the day after the Thursday? Or any other day before Monday. Can grouping in PivotTables do what you want? ( group by day, 7 day, starting on a Friday or Saturday or Sunday date )
