Counting only Mondays in a range of data

I have a range of data, call it A2:A60, with a list of dates in them. What's the best formula for counting only the Monday's that fall within that range?

Each weekday is represented by a number
ie)
Monday = 2
Tuesday = 3
Wednesday = 4
...


so in B2 put in =weekday(a2) and copy down
in c2 put countif(A2:A60,2)

=SUMPRODUCT(--(WEEKDAY(A2:A60)=2))
