Hi I have a fairly complication task.

I have a list in excel that I want to create a product selector from.

IE the list is like below

Size type body internal material
1 ehf 316 316 1234
2 eht 316 302 2345
3 ehf 302 bronze 3456
3 ehf 302 alum 4567

So i want to be able to create a list to select size, type, body and internal then it gives me the material.

Please let me know if this is posible in excel. I have spent 4 hours looking up information to do this and have gone no where with it.

Thanks,

Andrew

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Yes I have but I need it to be more robust as I will additional part on there. Also I want to make it simple so that I can send it out and other people can just use drop downs to figure
out the end item. Using auto filters will start with a hugh list list and it will intimidate my sales guys.

...but I need it to be more robust .
Please explain.

Using auto filters will start with a hugh list list
How would another method start with a smaller list? Perhaps you could have another column that categorizes the items into subcategories 1st.

Also, Autofilter creates dependent lists.

Well, after rereading your orginal post and rethinking, I have to agree with AlphaFrog. Filtering would be the easiest.

The link I posted will do the same thing. But there is alot of Set-up on your part to make it work.

Your choice > Simple or Fancy.

Robust as I would like to link publish it to my site so my sales guys have access to it. So down the lines understanding I might do the same to a website.

I don't mid the challege as it is the way to learn. I have happy to say everythin I have learn in excel has been poking at it and learning from examples online.

My list is about 1500 end part numbers. But has the ability to grow 10 times or more.

Thanks andrew
