Hello one and all:
I keep all my staff/personnel in a .xls.
Foremost in this .xls is a list of names(thousands) as well as the Unit/Unit Titles they're assigned to.

From this I build Org. Charts using either .PPT or MS Org.

Updating the .xls in no problem, but from there it gets cumbersome.

I want to continue using the .xls as I currently do (PT usage). But, I also want the Org Charts to Automatically updade when I Add/Delete/Change anything, including names, unit titles, assigned units, etc.

I don't want to have to rebuild the Org Charts each and every time.

So, when I change the .xls, the Org Charts are ready for Print, meaning nothing else to do.

Your thougts on this tough one.

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
Hi Henry

Have you tried saving your excel document to a .txt file?
I had a similar problem with my Org charts where i could not link the excel sheets to the chart. What i did was firstly save the excel sheet to .txt then transporting it to the chart.

Hope that helps you.It worked for me.

Out of my leauge on this, but (since I can't sleep).......

When you "rebuild" your org chart, is that simply a matter of Excel commands?

If so, what is the possibility of recording a macro of the effort, perceiving a pattern, correlating it with your logical process, and creating code that replicates your logic?
