Criteria to update a black cell

I'm having trouble trying to create a criteria for an update query to do the following.


I have a lot of blank cells that need to be updated to read "AAS Other" I tryed the following in the criteria
update to: "aas other"
criteria: ""
this does not do anything
& when I leave the criteria blank then it changes all the cells to read "AAS Other" I do not want this becuase there are other cells that have correct information in the same column.

If the values are currently empty then use "Is Null" (without speach marks) for the criteria

Yes - in the criteria, if no data has been entered into a field then it holds a 'value' of Null (unless you've specified a default value) so if you put "Is Null" into the criteria bit then it will only update records where no value has been entered into that field.
