When downloading CSV file from the internet(This file is a monthly report),

I figured out that the Date column has split into two types of Category:

the first is right justified and it is "Date" categorized from the period "1/07/2011" to "12/07/2011",

and the second is left justified and it is "General" categorized from the period "13/07/2011" to "31/07/2011",

-I need to know why from the period "1/07/2011" to "12/07/2011" is right justified and

from "13/07/2011" to "31/07/2011" is left justified ?

AND

-I need to know why it has to be from "01/07/2011"-"12/07/2011" not up to "15/07/2011" or up to "20/07/2011" or maybe to "13/07/2011"?!

Please if anyone can help? or if you have any idea about what is happening post ASAP!!

PS: This happned in all the following months (January, February, March, April, May, June, July).

Thanks.

Try changing the file extension from csv to txt. Then you will be able to choose the date format at Step 3 of the Text Import Wizard.

Try this: select the dates, Data > Text to Columns, click Next twice, tick Date, select DMY then click Finish.
