I recently received a csv file that needs to some zip code editing. Some of the zip code cells have 3 or 4 digits and I need to edit them to the obvious 5 digits. The csv file lets me make the edits, but does not save the changes when I close out and reopen the file. It's not saving the edits..Does anyone have insight into how I can make and save the zip code changes? Thanks in advance!!!

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
I dont think you can with CSVs. I live in Maine and all our zip codes are 04xxx.

I think you're stuck if using CSV format. Are these zip codes being imported into another sort of sheet?

ONe thing you could do, is cheat and put a blank in front of the number. Not a space, but if you're on a windows PC, make sure your NumLock is on. Then, hold down ALT and type 255 on the numeric keypad and release alt. You can put that in front and it will put a blank and then will keep your formatting. That will work, maybe it will suit your needs.
