I cannot use the Ctrl key to highlight a row in excel. It will only highlight the first cell and not the whole row so I cannot copy and paste. Not sure what I did to change the function of the key. Any suggestions?

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
Hi and welcome to the board:)

Are you using control & right arrow to try & highlight the complete row??

Does Shift & Spacebar work??

Is the scroll lock on/off??

Cheers,
Ian
