I have a data set from head office sent once a month with info for all staff in SW region. Within it are the employee numbers for all staff and I know I can filter this using a custom list to just my staff however I wondered if there was a way to do this based on a list of employee numbers on another tab.

What I would like to be able to do is have a list of my employee numbers on Sheet1 and then use this as a custom filter on sheet2 to show only those employees listed on sheet1
Is this possible? I dont mind using slicers if needed

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
You can do it with an advanced filter as long as the cell above the list on Sheet1 matches the name of the column in the data set. Just use your list as the criteria range.
