In this forum new style, a colon & D, turns into smiley?

t = "D:D"
x = Range("D1:D5")

but it's ok inside the code tag:

VBA Code:
t = "D:D"
x = Range("D1:D5")

There are a couple of other similar ones as well colon & P is another one. If you don't want to put it code tags like that, you can use [Plain] tags instead.
The result is:
t = "D:D"
x = Range("D1:D5")

Trying Plain tags :
t = "D:D"
x = Range("D1:D5")

Ah, it works. Thanks Peter.
But I did that by typing the tags manually, I don't see any icon in the menu to do that.

Also possible but less likely are
:o (but only lower case o) :eek:

Ok, thanks for the info.
It means I always need to see the preview before posting.
BTW, thanks for this new forum style, I like it.(y)(y)

.. or make sure you look at it after posting as you can edit if picked up early.

No thanks to me, but I like it too. Should be even more so once we get used to it and any last bugs get ironed out. :)

BTW, it appears no problem with smilies in formulas if you use XL2BB
Book1
DE

Sheet2
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
E3E3=SUM(D1:D3)

Please try using inline code as well.

Simply type/paste your formula in the editor, select it and click on the inline code button >_ (next to code button </> on the editor toolbar). Here in the sentence, =SUM(D1:D3) like this, or as a new paragraph:

=SUM(D1:D3)

It will be indicated nicely, there will be no smilie rendering, and it won't get lost in the sentence as it has monotype font, background color and additionally borders.

Ah, thanks for the tips, I just realized this is what "inline code" means. Cool. (y)

But it still removes the extra spaces between words:
txt = "This is a code"

while it works in vba code tag:
VBA Code:
txt = "This is a code"
