Hi,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I am wondering if there is an easy way to align data from two different columns? I had to combine two worksheets, what I did was copied a column from each worksheet into a new worksheet (column A, & B) Column A has 935 property names on it and is a full list. Column B has 1200 property names on it, which includes most of the same property names as column A, however, with them sorted alphabetically side by side, they do not line up. I’m not sure if there is a bit of VBA magic that could line these up (put “Like” property names in the same row, or a smarter way to use the sorting tool? I hope I am explaining this clearly, anyone have any suggestions/solutions or some VBA voodoo magic to help me out?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.

I don't know about formula, but that sort of thing is generally easy with VBA.

But could you post an example, say about 6 or so lines, to show what your data are like before and after the alignment.

As I am going through this list, it is obvious that they have the names all jacked up & this will unfortunately take a human eye to deduct what is implied. Thank you for your response, however, I do not think there is any code that could account for variances in the descriptors (the Human element of the two lists they provided me).<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
It looks like this is a good time to go make a large cup of tea & get to it.
(Unless you think, that VBA can decipher and match close but not exactly the same name, i.e. “333 Bush St Condos” & “Bush St”, or “Kachina Apartments, Mesa” & “Kachina Apts.”)? If you think it is worth looking at, I can provide a few lines?

Thanks again, either way.
