hey,
I am making a spreadsheet that lists possible events that can occur.
And some events can only occur in particular areas/conditions/etc.
I would like to make a macro that filters all out all the rows that don't happen in the areas/conditions/etc that I specify in a specific cell.
I realise that this can be done using the data filter but it is prefer that we can write some info into a cell and have it down automatically.
Could anyone help?
Cheers

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
The details take a lot of explanation, but you should look into the advanced filter function. Enter 6 blank rows about your range, copy the range header row to row 1, and click on Data - sort & Filter - Advanced. The list range is your data, and the criteria range is your particular areas and conditions. You can do "and" conditions and "or" conditions. Once it is set up, you can change the particulars and conditions.

Thanks very much. Unfortunately when using the 'equals' option, it wouldn't allow me to chose a particular cell. Eg, if I wrote in C4 or $C$4, it would search for that peice of text instead of referencing the cell
