I have an excel sheet with a list of employee code in a column and I need to find the corresponding dept code side by side. The dept code could be found from a url which returns complete details (like empname, badge number, phone, dept code, location etc) of employee in xml format given the employee code. The url is constructed such that the employee code is part of the url. Take for example, an employee with emp code 5734, the url will be like http://empservice/empinfo?userid=5734. From the url the dept code could be found and populated in the cell next to the emp code.

Kindly provide me some solution to this problem considering that I have few thousands of empcode in the excel sheet in a column.

From the one provide try this(your data in cell (A1):
=RIGHT(A1,LEN(A1)-LEN((LEFT(A1,FIND("=",A1)))))
