I have a .XLS file that is not showing the string of data.
example

Milage Cost Total
40 .48 =D1*D2

The equation shows in the box but when Put in the milage the total does not show up. I have to go to the total box and slect in the box and then enter then is shows up.

Is there a setting that is causing this
Please Help

Thanks

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.

Make sure calculation is set to automatic.

Excel 2007 and later:

Formulas tab>Calculation>Calculation Options>Automatic

Excel 2003 and earlier:

Tools>Options>Calculation tab>Automatic>OK

Check the format of the cell. If it is set to "Text" than it will show exactly what is in the box regardless.
