Data Validation: List

Having a small problem, typical "it worked last time" or "I didn't changed anything, but it's not working now!"

A1:E1 = Z, Y, X, "", W
{A1:E1} = TableH
B1 = ""

want dropdown list for C1
C1 Data Validation List formula "=IF(B1<>"",TableH)"

Get the error message "The list source must be a delimited list, or a reference to single row or column."

Are B1 and C1 really within your list (A1:E1)?

Correction:
A2 = ""
A3 Data Validation List formula "=IF(A2<>"",TableH)"

Try putting something in A2 before you enter the data validation formula. You can remove it afterwards.

Very interesting. Works again. So it would appear that the data validation must be "true" upon initial configuration!
