Hi.

When I create a drop down list with data validation, once I click away from the cell the arrow next to it disapears so no one will know it is there.

How do I get the arrow and maybe a box to stay around the cell so people know it is there and they have to select an option?

If this can be answered it would be much appreciated thank you.

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
if it is just one cell that you need them to input, you can always highlight it. You could also put a comment on the cell which will show a red triangle in the corner.

Better yet, you can add a control that they see all the time like a combo box or list box that will always be shown on the sheet and link it to that cell you want them to enter data in.

Since data validation can be placed in every cell in the entire note there is not a system way to show all those validation arrows on every cell.

another method would be to insert a combo box -- just like a drop down in data validation
if your using excel 2007 you need to enable the developer tab
