Hi all, I have a long list of dates spanning a few years. If I put the field into the filter 'bucket' and then report filter pages, i cannot see how to do a date range. Do I need a calculation in the source data to then break down quarters or alike? Any I ideas?

The main purpose is to generate filter pages for each month or similar.
Thanks

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
My suggestion is that you use "Timelines" to filter dates:
-select a cell in the pivottable, then: Menu /Inser Tab /Filter group; here there should be the "Timeline" icon
-click Timeline; tick the date field, Ok
Now your pivot can be filtered using this tool; dates can be diveded into Years, or Quarter, or Months, or Day
The same Timeline can be used to filter different tables, if they are generated from the same source data

Try...

Thank you, I am aware of the feature Timeline ;) I was wanting "report filter pages" feature to generate pivot tables off my main one (thus the breakdown of the dates) Thanks.

You could give this a try.
• Move the date field into the row position
• Right Click and select group
• Group by Month
• Move the field which should now say months back to the page filter.
• Now try your Show Report Filter Pages
