Hello All:

I have the following in Column A

2008/07/17
2008/06/05
2008/11/20

and so on. I need it to be

07/17/2008
06/05/2008
11/20/2008

Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Excel Facts

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
OK, for comparison only then..

Assuming your original list starts in A1

=date(month(a1),day(1),year(a1))

etc

If these are true dates then it's just a formatting issue. Re-format dates to mm/dd/yyyy.

If that doesn't work then the data is presumably text formatted - convert to dates by selecting the whole column and using

Data > text to columns > Finish

Now format as required

I think it might an easy fix. I might be wrong but give it a try.

Select the cells that you want to change the order of the date then go to format cells. From there you want to select "Number" tab. Select date, and from there you can select what order you want to see it in and how it's displayed.

Good luck,
