I had someone get me some data from the mainframe and return it in an excel format. The date fields were returned as yyyymmdd. I want the date field to be mm/dd/yyyy but everytime I try to change the format to this I get ##################
Can someone please give the attached sheet a look and explain to me how to correct this?

Well so much for attaching the sheet. I don't see anyway to do that!

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
Hello Mike - you can't attach workbooks here......

If you have a column of dates in that format you can convert using "Text to columns"

Select column then

Data > Text to columns > Next > Next > under "column data format" choose "date" and YMD from the dropdown > OK

Now format dates as required
