I have a spreadsheet where I am trying to convert the a value which is in a general(2231988) format into a date format(02/23/1988).

Any ideas as to how I should do it??
Thank you,

When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".

=DATE(RIGHT(A1,4)+0,LEFT(RIGHT("0"&A1,8),2)+0,MID(RIGHT("0"&A1,8),3,2)+0)

You could also try
=TEXT(A1,"00-00-0000")+0
and format as a date
as long as you alway have a two digit day
Ie
1012002 is jan 1, not Oct 1.
