Hiya all!

Every time I open up excel I get the date picker in the shape of a square instead of the rectangle I designed it to be. Is this a known flaw? If so, how do I fix it so it stops doing that?

Thanks for your help,
Tara

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
When I open Excel I don't see anything called a date picker. Is this a macro you have written or are you talking about a selection from one of the Excel tabs?

Exactly how did you (think you) design(ed) the drop down portion of the DatePicker control to be a rectangle?

Hi!

When I first inserted the date picker I had to drag to the size I wanted. I made it a rectangle to appear to fit the size of cell A2.

Thanks,
Tara

What was the exact (full) name of the control that you added? I ask because the Microsoft Date and Time Picker control, which has always been called "date picker" for short, is a drop down box displaying a date and when you click its down arrow, a calendar appears for you to pick the date from... you can resize the drop down field itself (which, given what it displays makes no sense to do), but you cannot resize the calendar because it is never displayed at design time. So, while you are calling the control "date picker", I'm guessing you mean a control known by a different name. Can you tell us what that name is?

Sure, it's Microsoft Date and Time Picker control 6.0(sp4).

I have set the height in the properties to 16.5. But when I open it up it's more like a height of 48, which is the standard height for the control when you just insert it and double click on the area you want it.

Hmmm..

Thanks for your help!

Just wanted you to know I found the answer from a 2009 post.

Ah, I think I know what you were referring to... you meant when you double click the worksheet to place the control, the drop down control comes in at an odd size (too tall), right? I thought you were referring to the calendar that gets displayed when you click the drop down button. Sorry for my confusion on this question. I'm glad you were able to find the answer in spite of all my "help".
