DAX error, fx function, year

Hello,

I bought Bill's book and trying to follow instructions given on page 25 and 26 but I get error message "the end of the input was reached"
can anyone help??






exact error message:-

Yes, I get the same error - even after correcting the 'date problem' (http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=545429) in the Demo.txt file. By the way, I corrected the dates myself using Microsoft Access and then importing into PowerPivot from Access instead of the text file.
However, regarding this problem, I found that I could just type the formula =year(demo.[Date]), instead of using 'fx' and it worked OK. I don't have an answer to the cause of the problem as I have not tried it using other data.
