Hello,

My laptop is not powerful enough for macros and scripts I created, so Im thinking of buying dedicated computer that would only be used for processing my macros (yeah, that important they are)

Can you please give some suggestions about what components to choose? its intended really only for vba, so no powerful graphics etc is required, however I need it fast.

is i5/i7 enough, or would xenon be considerably faster? or should I go for AMD?
RAM would be an issue, I guess 6-8GB should do it
Would SSD be an advantage if there is enough ram?

thank you for any suggestions and tips!

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).

I have an i7 with 4 GB of RAM running Windows 7 Ultimate / Office 2010 (64 bit) and I have never had an issue with speed or performance. I don't run many macros but I deal with some large Excel files on a regular basis and run multiple instances of Excel while listening to iTunes, surfing the web, etc.

believe me, I have very big spreadsheet and a very complex macro :) - yeah I know, should have rather learned sql + php or something. unfortunately VBA is a limitation to me.

Nevertheless I am looking for optimal price/perf solution: eg:

is it wise to invest in SSD that is 30% more expensive? or will it bring just 5% speed increase and so on...
