And another one:

I'd like to define a certain kind of format for my sheet. When it's protected, users should only be able to enter data into two columns, say B and D.
So, clearly, I have to protect the other cells.
What is more, I'd like other users to be able to 'jump' from one data cell to the next using "tab". So, after they enter a value in cell B2, they press tab and they automatically get to cell D2. Next tab is B3, then D3...

It'd be also lovely if the cursor is always in Cell B2, when opening the file.

Hello timkunde.

Do this way:

1. Select first B2. Take Format Cells. Select Protection Sheet on Dialog. Remove v from Locked. Continue same way with all cells You want to be accessed by Tab.

2. Then once finished, then take from Menu [TOOLS][PROTECTION][PROTECT SHEET]. Remove v from Select Locked Cells. Be sure that You have v on Select Unlocked Cells. OK.

Cursor always in Cell B2, when opening the file, for that You need VBA code.

Works fine.

Here's the challenge:
I need the protection (with the tabs) and an automatic filter to work at the same time. Without macro, I can only activate EITHER the filter OR the protection.

Possible?

Note:
When You are setting protection on, please checkmark also Use Autofilter. Note this is valid for XP.
