Hi there. I have a column that is basically a count (e.g. A1 = 1, A2 = 2 A3 = 3 etc...) I was wandering if its possible to delete a row in the middle of the count, and the numbers automatically re-count themselves. Please let me know if i have explained this poorly and i will give a better example.

Thanks

Ant

Hi Ant, (Nice quote too... :biggrin: )
I don't know how you entered the numbering, but maybe try this.
In A1 enter the formula
=ROW()
Now copy this down as far as needed.
When you delete row(s) the numbers stay current.

This what you're looking for?

Thanks Dan! Thats exactly what i needed! The count doesnt start at row 1 though. So i just did =Row() - 1 and it worked!!

My quote isnt an original im afraid.. I stole it from a NO FEAR poster! :biggrin:
