Cell B4 has a drop list using vaildation
Cell C4 is a dependant list based on the selection made in B4
Cell D4 is another dependant list based on the selection made in C4

the problem comes in , when i try to get the third dependant list to work, it willl work fine with the first three selections made in the second list but fails to work when the second option from B4 is chosen...

Help!!

could some one explain how to get a three dependant system working correct, in steps, rather then confusing links to past posts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.

Hi Nicole,

Since there are several different methods of implementing dependent validation lists, you should let us know which one you are using. Perhaps you could provide a link to a particular posting you are basing your method on, or a brief description.

kk, im using the redirect method, with the naming of ranges etc

i have three cells

B4 C4 D4

all have lists in them

C4 depends on B4

and

D4 depends on C4

am using naming ranges and redirect () etc

now i have two options in cell B4

and then x amount of options in C4 and then it works fine and displays the correct list in D4

however if the second option of the 2 in B4 is chosen,

C4 displays the correct lists but D4 doesnt work at all,

it evalulates to an error....
