Descriptions of formulas

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your help earlier.

I'm looking for a list of excel formulas with a description of what they do.

I'm sure alot of the things I don't know - would be solved by this.

I've googled it but can't seem to find anything. Surely it must be out there!

Some of the things I do on a daily basis could be much easier if I knew formulas for it (like my earlier question about adding characters). I also today found a formula to add up characters in a cell!!

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Look at the Formula Bar... see that fx symbol immediately to the left of it? Click it. This will bring up a dialog box... click the down arrow for the drop-down box and select "All" from the list. The bottom listbox will now be displaying every function in your version of Excel. Select one and then click the "Help on this function" hyperlink in the lower left corner of the dialog box. This will bring up the complete help file for that function. After you have read it and close it, you will be back at the dialog box again where you can repeat the process for the next function you want to look at.
