Hi Guys,

I was hoping you might be able to assist me with some code that will enable me to deterimine if the active workbook is read-only. Using Sub Auto_Open()

In addition I need to be able to temporarily switch to read-write (there is a workbook password) and then back to read-only (ensuring the password still applies)

Thanks for your help.

Michael.

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
If ThisWorkbook.ReadOnly Then
MsgBox "read-only"
End If
End Sub

Make a workbook Read only ...

Public Sub MakeReadOnly()
ThisWorkbook.ChangeFileAccess xlReadOnly, "Password"
End Sub
